Day 21 - Update from the girls.

January 1, 2019

Happy New Year!

We have now spent 3 weeks on board Huntress & are settled into routine. The sunrises & sunsets are very special & no photos can really do them justice. We have kept our clocks to UTC & as we travel through different time zones, notice the change in daylight hours, last night the moon finally rose at 5am! The night shifts are long & quite challenging, we’re unable to see which way the waves are hitting the boat. NYE on board saw Emily & Chloe have another visit from the whale, it certainly kept them awake on shift as it splashed & blowed very close to the oars in the darkness. Lou & Helen continue to listen to their factual podcasts & come morning we have team fact file lessons!
The winds and weather has been a little frustrating for us, slower than expected & we are currently on the calmest ocean you can imagine, very much like our training in Salcombe! We are due some stronger winds & faster seas towards the end of the week.
Happy new year to you all, if we were to have one New Years wish we would love a donation to our charity, Devon Air Ambulance Trust. Thank you for everyone’s amazing support.
