“It’ll be fine...”
June has whizzed by so quickly and we are sneaking ever closer to the time where we will need to pack up our boat and send her off to La Gomera to await our arrival and the start of TWAC 2018.
This month after a long day of rowing we have achieved our first boat sleepover!
We moored up for the night and snuggled down in to our cabins for a very cosy nights sleep. Apart from a slight shortage of oxygen and a duck fight on deck we achieved some beauty sleep and woke up at 5am ready to head back out for a full day’s rowing.
Trips like this really help us get to grips with what boat life will be like. We have decided scrambled eggs and caramelised onion for breakfast is a BIG NO-NO!...
Bingo at Malborough Village Hall was a successful evening for us.
Another huge thanks needs to our support team who dutifully made an endless supply of egg sandwiches, and our friends and family for baking lots of yummy treats!
We will be hosting another Bingo later on in the year so stay tuned for more dabber action!
We were very lucky to be invited by Miss Darke to Dartmouth Academy sports day and help run this years “rowing station”.
We spoke to lots of the students and we are looking forward to heading back again in October to do an assembly with the students. It is a fantastic opportunity to work with the academy in helping to raise students aspirations and promote the belief that anything is possible when you put your mind to it.
Our boat is no longer naked! A massive thank you to Ross at Future Client for designing, providing and sticking all our sponsors logo’s on to our boat. She now looks very eye catching out on the water and stands out at every event we take her to.
There’s still time to get involved so if you’re interested in being featured on the boat with this incredible advertising opportunity please get in touch.
At the end of June we hosted our Gin Party at Tony Paul’s private bar.
So many people came and supported us on the most perfect sunny day and we are so grateful to everyone who got involved.
A big thank you to the “hostess with the most-est”, Tony Paul and all our family and friends for being star bakers!
It was a really lovely afternoon but then who wouldn’t enjoy sun, gin, live music, great company and cake!
Finally some BIG NEWS!
We are very excited to announce the name of our boat. After months and months of deliberation and countless google searches we couldn’t be happier with the decision that has been made. Our boat will be named “Huntress”, a strong, powerful name for our team of strong, powerful ladies. Please look for us out on the water and send us any of your photos.
With less than 5 months to go until the start of our race we have our eyes firmly fixed on the start line, and on our challenge ahead. We are ready to hunt it down.
